Be Kind Napa Walk and Kindness Celebration
Dear Dance House Families,
Please join the Dance House Community on Saturday, August 17th for the Be Kind Napa Walk and Kindness Celebration! Bring a sign with a message of kindness, wear your Dance House shirt and join the Kindness Movement!
Be Kind Napa was created by sisters and fellow Dance House dancers Talulah and Ruby Finkelstein. They have distributed more than 15,000 of the iconic Be Kind buttons all over the world. They have also created the Kindness Kids, a youth-led group that brings together kids throughout our community to organize acts of positivity and compassion. Among their projects, they collect warm coats for those in need, prepare food for those who are hungry, and organize birthday parties for children without homes.
The goal of the Kindness Walk and Celebration is to spotlight the power of kindness to strengthen community. This year’s Kindness Day celebration starts with the Be Kind Walk. Participants will gather at Yountville’s Veteran’s Memorial Park at 9:30am. The route goes through the town of Yountville, culminating with the Be Kind Celebration at the Napa Valley Museum where attendees will be met by musicians, sweet treats, art projects, and speakers focused on compassion and benevolence.
Walkers are encouraged to bring signs with messages of kindness. A sign-making party will be held on Thursday, August 15 at the Napa Silverados baseball game. Anyone under the age of 18 who makes a kindness sign onsite, will gain free entry to the game. Doors open at 4:00pm and supplies will be provided.
Be Kind Napa is a kid-driven and kid-led event that brings people together to spread and celebrate the power of kindness to strengthen community. Be Kind Napa is not a protest or political or religious in nature. There will be no megaphones, just people walking, wearing their buttons and holding signs with messages of kindness.
